Great stuff, very high quality. I love the visuals, like hi-fi retro late 90s, early 00s shooters. Enjoy the conspiracy theory atmosphere. Main character is great. Liked exploring the map, smashing all the boxes etc. Also, appreciate all rifle ammo stacking (instead of 5.56, 7.62 etc). Only criticisms:
Title screen music is weak. Deus Ex-ish but the main melodic line varies too much and makes it forgettable/meandering (you don't forget the Deus Ex theme). In general, the sound and instrumentation of all the music is solid but the composition falls short.
As others said: way too easy.
Frustrating to interact with things that are 'of no interest'. Might be better you can't interact with them.
Can hear footsteps from below ground while inside base.
Would like quick melee for boxes.
Might be nice if NPCs had indicator for remaining dialog or gave items on first interact. Engineer told me about wrench so I looked all over. Talked to him again and he had it the whole time!
I recently played through the 2023-11-16_Build(PC) demo, but I stopped before finding the key card that lets you access the downstairs area. I only have one major feedback to give: The shooting and gunplay need significant work.
I constantly had issues with accuracy, bullets were not going where I expected even when crouching and standing still. I wasn't trying to snipe anyone or anything drastic like that. I could be crouching and standing still 30-40 feet away from an enemy and still miss a perfectly lined up shot.
The enemy Ai reacts to shots missing them and they would instantly turn to shoot me. With missed shots alerting unaware enemies, it's very frustrating when the miss feels unexpected or seems unfair.
I think an aim button would be a great solution. Holding right click to lower the sensitivity, reduce movement speed, and increase accuracy would really help with lining up shots. The look sensitivity that I want while exploring is much higher than the sensitivity that I want while lining up a headshot.
I see huge inspiration from 007 in the design and I think it fits perfectly with immersive sim mechanics! If you want to take further inspiration, you could add a mechanic that softly locks onto enemies within a certain distance from the player and an aim button that works how I described above. A soft lock-on mechanic might take away from the FPS feel of certain sections, but from what I experienced, I feel that this game is aiming more towards immersive sim rather than outright fps, so I feel that it could fit.
No inverted mouse support? I can't play without it, unless I turn it upside down! Key mapping would be nice, reloading on right button presses feels weird.
One thing - I noticed that because of the gunplay, its very easy to level an entire zone of enemies using guns rather than having to think of other ways to approach the level.
One suggestion is maybe reduce ammo availability since it feels like stealth becomes redudant...in a stealth game.
Otherwise pretty excited of this game, it trully embodies an Alex Jones simulator.
It would be nice if objectives were marked completed in Notes when done.
Also, how was I supposed to know which way to take to complete the save the General objective? I chose the path that went to the villain and missed on that side objective.
A dedicated healing button would be nice.
There is no reason to highlight non-interactable items in the HUD like keyboards etc. It just clutters the view and makes it harder to see what you actually can interact with.
Thanks for the feedback! We are planning to implement objectives being crossed off when completed, that will be in the final game. Missing the general is tricky, not sure how to best address this yet. I don't think we'll do a dedicated healing button, I prefer having all item usage be consistent using the number bar. The reason we have non-interactable objects highlight is because we are planning on making them more interactive (pick up and throw/place etc.).
Absolutely wonderful demo. Was just wondering if I could humbly request the taser from syphon filter 1+2 as a weapon in the full game? I hope everyone and their loved ones has a fun, happy, healthy, and safe 2024! :)
This demo is lit, aesthetically. Reminds me of Soldier of Fortune. Goldeneye style tactical watch is cool, but need the music to go a LOT harder ; ) haha, jk.
I created an account just to express my joy in playing this demo. The Goldeneye spirit is there and I was left wanting more when I was done with the demo. As someone who grew up playing a lot of N64, this was a treat.
Wow, just wow, this is an amazing expirience if you ask me. Would love to see more of this. I love this type of games, just amazing. I recommend the game for HL fans. Voice acting is nice and play through is fun. Well made.
(P.S. If you need a voice actor for roles such as, "Cowardly Henchman #4," or, "Guy Who Dies Immediately to Establish How Evil the Main Villain Really is," I'm always available. ;{) )
despite a few comments about the save function I thoroughly enjoyed the game as the save method makes the player take more care in their plans of attack. best game on itch I have played.

Looking forward to the full release!
Thank you for taking the time to play and for the detailed feedback!

A bit of Goldeneye 007 and Metal Gear mixed together.
Really good game looking forward to the steam release 5 stars
Tried out your demo!
No inverted mouse support? I can't play without it, unless I turn it upside down! Key mapping would be nice, reloading on right button presses feels weird.
There will be a robust system settings menu in the final game, unfortunately we didn't have time to implement much for the pre-alpha.
Great Demo.
Atmospheric and interesting.

i gave 5 atstars :D
dude this is so cool, like so so cool i like
Hey, this is great!
Enjoyed the vibes and it was a great demo.
I look forward to following your progress.
Amazing, the story reminds me of something like MGS.
what are the cheating codes in this game, does not like mda i play without cheating plss if someone knows let me send it to me
I don't like games without cheats! i will try to crack the game files maybe i can cheat in the game
We are planning to have a cheat menu for the final game :)
I tried to purr and failed XD I admit I'm a cheater
😆
Why would you even need to cheat? It's not like the game is hard, not that difficulty is even a good reason to do so.
Finished your demo and I had a blast. I'm looking forward to play the full game. Keep it up guys!
What an impressive demo! This shows much promise.
Some minor notes.

Thanks again for checking out the demo!
This looks great. Are you adding gamepad support?
i accidentally restarted the level bruh
rip
(we're planning to add a "are you sure" confirmation for the final game so this is less of an issue)
or just move the game over menu a lil
Fantastic Demo! You've got just the right mix of ingredients to make something really special here! Can't wait to see where it goes.

very nice frog man

best demo I think I have ever played, wasn't expecting the voice acting to be that good.
Awesome demo! Way more polished than I expected. Can't wait for a steam page
Was not expecting this demo to be this good can't wait for the full game
/editWow, just wow, this is an amazing expirience if you ask me. Would love to see more of this. I love this type of games, just amazing. I recommend the game for HL fans. Voice acting is nice and play through is fun. Well made.
I love stealthing men RIGHT in the freedom!
(P.S. If you need a voice actor for roles such as, "Cowardly Henchman #4," or, "Guy Who Dies Immediately to Establish How Evil the Main Villain Really is," I'm always available. ;{) )
I'm looking forward to this and Legend 64.
I am also following that project, love the dev logs he puts out on youtube.
Great demo, can't to see what you have in store, will surely buy it.
despite a few comments about the save function I thoroughly enjoyed the game as the save method makes the player take more care in their plans of attack. best game on itch I have played.
This game has an error in installing as it won't recognize the "build". Can anyone help?
Are you trying to add it to the itch app or launch the game from the exe?
I really think this can be a instant classic! Feels like it could be the Americanized version of No One Lives Forever.
its a pretty good demo 9/10 gonna buy the full release
I really enjoyed this game, can't wait for the full release :)
